About the Position

As a Data Lead, you will serve as a liaison between business functions and the Data & Analytics team. You will understand business objectives, translate them into actionable data requirements, prioritize incoming requests from stakeholders, and facilitate communication to ensure clear understanding of analytics deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between assigned business functions (e.g., Sales, Service, Operations, Finance) and the Data & Analytics team.
  • Understand business objectives and translate them into actionable data requirements.
  • Prioritize and manage incoming requests from business stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of analytics deliverables.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of Power BI dashboards, from requirement gathering to deployment and training.
  • Design and develop interactive, user-friendly dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency of analytics outputs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Power BI dashboard design, usability, and performance.
Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor a team of Data Analysts; assign work, review outputs, and provide technical guidance.
  • Ensure timely delivery of reporting requirements by managing team workload and capacity.
  • Promote best practices in data visualization, storytelling, and data governance.
  • Collaborate with other Analytics Leads and the Head of Data & Analytics for cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications

Mandatory Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence, with at least 2 years in a lead capacity.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Power BI development (including DAX, data modelling, performance tuning).
  • Proficient in SQL for data extraction and transformation.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, ETL concepts, and business process mapping.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and coach team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization concepts.

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts.
  • Exposure to ERP systems is preferred.
  • Power BI certifications are a plus.
  • Hands-on experience of creating Power Automate workflows would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, or data security practices is a plus.
