About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ruby Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable and efficient backend systems using Ruby on Rails.

As a seasoned developer, you will have a strong understanding of Ruby language fundamentals, idioms, and metaprogramming. You will also have experience with frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, and ActiveModel validations.

In addition, you will have a deep understanding of OOP, mixins, blocks, procs, lambdas, memory management, GC tuning, and performance profiling. You will be comfortable deploying and optimizing Passenger, Thin, and PostgreSQL.

You will also be proficient in Bundler, Rake, Rubygems, and Gem building. Your expertise will include knowledge of RVM, rbenv, chruby, and Thread vs. process models, Connection handling, worker tuning, and memory profiling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable and efficient backend systems using Ruby on Rails
  • Implement robust database designs using PostgreSQL and ActiveRecord
  • Optimize system performance using caching, indexing, and query plans
  • Develop and deploy secure and reliable APIs using Grape and ActiveJob
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases using best practices and coding standards
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in Ruby on Rails development
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby language fundamentals, idioms, and metaprogramming
  • Experience with frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, and ActiveModel validations
  • Deep understanding of OOP, mixins, blocks, procs, lambdas, memory management, GC tuning, and performance profiling
  • Familiarity with bundling and dependency management using Bundler and Rubygems
