Telecommunications Engineer Role

This position requires an experienced ICT & Telecommunications Engineer who will be part of a growing Technology Systems team, helping deliver leading-edge technology solutions across various sectors.

Job Description
  • Develop and publish telecommunications designs to support projects by undertaking detailed designs relating to ICT & Telecommunications Systems.
  • Design Structured Cabling Systems (SCS), Communications Rooms, Outside Plant Infrastructure (OSP), Active ICT Networks, Wireless LAN, and Wi-Fi modelling.
  • Design RF Systems, technology platforms, and systems such as nurse call systems, audio visual, video conference systems, unified communications solutions, smart building, space management solutions.

The successful candidate will prepare reports, specifications, calculations, and drawings to enable the tendering of works for installation and commissioning of systems and solutions.

Responsibilities include liaison with engineers, vendors, and contractors throughout the project duration.

Mentor junior and graduate engineers within a multi-discipline design team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • Past experience in mentoring and pursuing Chartered Engineer status.
  • Extensive experience in designing and integrating telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, active network design, server and SAN solutions, firewalls, and radio systems.
  • Familiarity with health and safety requirements and stimulated by meeting technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to lead and work as part of a team.
