About the Role

SolidCAM is a global leader in Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software, delivering advanced user-friendly solutions that integrate seamlessly with leading CAD systems.


As a key team member, you will assist in the quality assurance of English user documentation, including online help, user guides, and application tutorials.


You will be responsible for updating existing German documentation and translating new English content into native German language.


Collaboration with the GmbH team is essential to customize documents, making them relevant and engaging for our German audience.


Responsibilities and Tasks
  1. Maintain and continuously improve existing German technical documentation to support new SolidCAM software versions.
  2. Produce clear, concise, and accurate localization of new/updated content to German language.
  3. Collaborate with the GmbH team and subject matter experts to gather information and translate technical details into comprehensive content.
  4. Edit and proofread technical content for accuracy and clarity.
  5. Manage documentation using content management and version control systems.
  6. Deliver user-centric and customer-focused documents.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certified B2 or better German proficiency level, both writing and speaking required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in German-English translation and localization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe products.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience translating technical documentation related to a software product.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD design software.
  • Experience with CMS and version control systems.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Jira for bug tracking, issue tracking, feature development, and agile project management.
