Role Summary:

Western Union is seeking a skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Pune, India. As a key member of our Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of our service delivery model supporting assigned platforms through a predefined framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement testing and quality engineering artifacts for new and existing software applications.
  • Ensure that Mobile applications are implemented according to the product stakeholder needs.
  • Document results accurately and reports results tactfully and concisely.
  • Exercise independent judgement within defined parameters to determine appropriate action.
  • Log and track system flaws using the JIRA issue tracking system.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate issue resolution with operations, functional, and technical teams.
  • Work with a software development team and Service providers in a geographically distributed structure.
  • Provide coaching to Junior Associates.
  • Works independently on simple to medium complex projects.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of software quality engineering experience.
  • Must be a problem solver with demonstrated experience in solving difficult technology challenges, with a can-do attitude.
  • Good Experience in testing Mobile applications and Web-based solutions.
  • Knowledge accessing relational databases (e.g. SQL scripting).
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage workload, and consistently deliver results.
  • Experience in Agile and Iterative development methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact with developers and product stakeholders globally.
  • Good experience on Mobile Apps Automation using Automation tools.

Technical Areas of Expertise:

  • Experience with test management systems (e.g. Jira Zephyr, HP ALM).
  • Good experience on Mobile Apps and Web applications testing.
  • Experience on Appium Framework or Selenium Web driver.
  • Knowledge on Basic JAVA programming.
  • Strong background in test writing to provide full spectrum testing.
  • Familiar with deployment strategies, including creation and oversight of multiple QA environments.
  • Good to excellent written communication skills, including technical documentation.
  • Practical experience with creation of, and adherence to, an agile development scheduled for testing.
  • Background in working with product stakeholders to organize, develop and execute User Acceptance Tests.
  • Experience with selecting/creating appropriate test data, and practiced at Structured Query Language (SQL) to validate system's correct data handling.
