Key Responsibilities:

  2. Compliance Support & Coordination">
    1. ">
    2. Assist the Head of Compliance in the day-to-day management of compliance obligations (OfS, UK GDPR etc.).">
    3. Maintain compliance trackers and logs (e.g., risk register, GDPR incident log, training completion log, policy review calendar).">
    4. Monitor deadlines and ensure timely submission of statutory returns or compliance actions.">
    ">
  3. Documentation & Records Management">
    1. ">
    2. Maintain accurate records of Data processing activities (RoPA)">
    3. Data breaches and near misses">
    4. Subject rights requests (e.g., DSAR log)">
    5. Policy reviews and updates">
    6. Support in drafting, formatting, and publishing internal policies and procedures.">

  4. Reporting & Audit Preparation">
    1. ">
    2. Collate documentation and evidence for internal and external audits or inspections (e.g., OfS).">
    3. Generate monthly and quarterly compliance status reports and dashboards for internal use.">
    ">
  5. Staff Training & Awareness">
    1. ">
    2. Monitor and report on completion rates of mandatory compliance training.">
    3. Provide administrative support for scheduling and tracking training, webinars, and briefings.">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • ">
  • Experience in an administrative or compliance support role (3–5 years).">
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and record-keeping.">
  • Strong written and verbal communication.">
  • Familiarity with data protection principles under UK GDPR.">
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).">
  • Understanding of cybersecurity risks and controls, including the importance of breach notification procedures and secure data handling.">
  • Previous experience in a higher education institution or public sector will be valued.">
  • Awareness of Office for Students (OfS) regulatory framework.">
  • Exposure to compliance tools (e.g., OneTrust, SharePoint, Excel logs).">
