Job Description

Designing material handling systems for steel plants and power plants requires a deep understanding of various types of equipment, including belt conveyors, silos, hoppers, vibrating feeders, screens, dust extraction systems, trippers, belt feeders, belt weighers, magnetic separators, and bucket elevators. The ideal candidate should have functional and technical knowledge of these systems, as well as experience with software tools like Auto-Cad and MS-Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop material handling systems, including process flow diagrams, schemes, and layouts;
  • Prepare technical specifications for material handling equipment, such as reclaimers, stackers, screens, crushers, feeders, etc.;
  • Conduct procurement engineering activities, including data sheet development, technical specification preparation, bid analysis, offer evaluation, technical recommendation, and vendor document review;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of material handling systems with other plant processes;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, codes, and regulations, and ensure compliance in design and implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • BE/B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
  • 5-15 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in the material handling industry;
  • Strong knowledge of material handling equipment, including conveyor belts, silos, hoppers, vibrating feeders, screens, dust extraction systems, trippers, belt feeders, belt weighers, magnetic separators, and bucket elevators;
  • Proficiency in software tools like Auto-Cad and MS-Office;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
