Job Summary

This opportunity is ideal for a highly skilled and proactive individual who has a wide range of skills in various data administration, reporting and dashboarding disciplines.

We are seeking an experienced data engineer with extensive experience in designing and building solutions that meet business needs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in architecture, design and implementing warehouse and reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand business needs and design solutions to meet those needs.
  • Capable of architecture, design and implementing warehouse and reporting solutions.
  • Extract data from bespoke applications and third-party products.
  • Consolidate multiple data sources into a data warehouse or data lake.
  • Ensure data is accessible and structured to facilitate reporting needs.
  • Set up dashboards and reports in data visualization tools.
  • Build resilient, reliable, secure and cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor and alert on issues proactively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or work experience.
  • 10+ years of strong experience with SQL Servers and relational databases.
  • Strong experience with querying and optimizing complex data sets.
  • Strong experience with creating and optimizing stored procedures, functions and triggers.
  • Experience working with older legacy code and systems.
  • End-to-end knowledge from product databases to information visualization.
  • Experience with Azure cloud technologies including ADF, Functions, DLS and Synapse.
  • Relational database design and architecture expertise.
  • Data visualization and reporting using SSRS and Power BI.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, ADF or others.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling.
  • Teamwork and collaboration – share thoughts and seek ideas and feedback from others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
