Lead Structural Designer Position Overview

A key member of our engineering team, the Lead Structural Designer will be responsible for leading structural design and drafting efforts under the supervision of a Principal Engineer or Designer.

  • Conduct structure detailing, drafting & 3D modelling with thorough understanding of connection details.
  • Develop Structure Design Database in Engineering Management Platform.
  • Participate in model review and comment closure at various stages (30%, 60%, 90%).
  • Review Vendor Documents related to structure details required for development of drawings.
  • Mentor senior & junior designers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, expertise in Topsides Structure Details, and hands-on experience with 3D modeling tools like AVEVA / E3D/ PDMS and 2D AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

The Lead Structural Designer will:

  • Lead Structural Design Team to deliver structural 2D drawings & 3D modelling.
  • Ensure As-Built Structural drawings & 3D model.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and construction.
Requirements

To be successful as a Lead Structural Designer, you will need:

  • Minimum 15 years experience in the offshore or onshore oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum 7 years experience at FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor.
  • Minimum 1 FPSO / FLNG/ Offshore EPCI Project experience as a Structural Designer.
  • Well Versed with Structure Design Tool such as AutoCAD, AVEVA / E3D/ PDMS.
  • ITI/ Draftsmanship/ Diploma in engineering (preferably Civil) or Equivalent.
  • Ability to work with and to communicate effectively with co-workers and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good in English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
