As a diligent and meticulous audit professional, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients in the United Kingdom.

  • Your role will involve working closely with audit managers and partners to plan and execute audit engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards, regulations, and firm policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting audits of financial statements, operational processes, and compliance programs to ensure accuracy, integrity, and adherence to applicable standards
  • Reviewing and auditing the financial statements of UK-based enterprises to ensure adherence to legal accounting requirements (UK GAAP or IFRS)
  • Participating in statutory audit work preparation, including planning, execution, and closure phases
  • Performing end-to-end audit functions for entities across various sectors, including small and medium companies

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in planning, organizing, and executing audit engagements, including conducting risk assessments, developing audit programs, and testing controls
  • Substantive testing and analytical procedures skills to evaluate the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and relevant regulations
  • Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to document audit procedures performed, findings, and conclusions in a clear and concise manner
  • Able to identify control deficiencies and provide recommendations for improving clients' internal control systems and financial processes
  • Fine-tuned collaboration skills to work with client personnel to gather necessary information and resolve audit-related queries or issues

In terms of technical expertise, you should have:

  • Proficiency in audit software, including CaseWare, Wolters Kluwer CCH Audit, MyWorkPapers, Inflo, and Thomson Reuters
  • Experience in using accounting applications, such as IRIS, Sage, and Xero
  • In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks (IFRS, FRS, UK GAAP), and relevant regulations (e.g., Companies Act)
