About this role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to drive public affairs strategies and engagement in the retail industry.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs plans to support organisational objectives in the homewares and DIY sector.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, and other influential individuals.
  • Closely monitor policy developments and provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Presentation of findings and proposals to internal and external audiences through compelling reports and briefs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between public affairs efforts and broader business goals.
  • Represent the organisation in industry forums, conferences, and policy discussions.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines related to public affairs activities.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with policy changes that may impact the organisation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy in the retail/FMCG/Real Estate industry.
  • A proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret and act on policy developments.
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and addressing challenges.
