Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience in developing high-performance backend systems using Golang. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java and a strong background in designing and building scalable, robust, and efficient software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality backend systems using Golang.
  2. Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
  3. Contribute to system architecture and design discussions.
  4. Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to design scalable and resilient systems.
  5. Implement microservices architecture with effective service orchestration and communication.
  6. Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues in production environments.
  7. Enhance application performance and reduce latency wherever possible.
  8. Perform regular code reviews and maintain high coding standards and best practices.
  9. Write well-documented, clean, and maintainable code.
  10. Work closely with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
  11. Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
  12. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for new and existing systems and APIs.
  13. Stay updated with the latest Golang trends, libraries, tools, and best practices.
  14. Advocate for continuous improvement and share knowledge with the team.

Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in backend development with at least 4+ years in Golang.
  • Prior development experience in Java is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Golang paradigms, idioms, and standard libraries.
  • Experience with Go frameworks like Gin, Echo, or Beego.
  • Solid understanding of concurrency and parallelism in Go.
  • Proficiency in designing and integrating RESTful APIs and Web Services.
  • Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, or Redis.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of microservices design principles and patterns.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Cloud exposure (AWS, GCP, Azure) with a good understanding of deployment and scaling.
  • Exposure to message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies (JavaScript, React, Angular) for effective collaboration.

Nice to Have:

  • Contributions to open-source Golang projects.
  • Experience with GraphQL or gRPC.
  • Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
