Backend Developer

To build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services that power key modules of the CatalystOne HCM platform. You will work in a cross-functional agile team and play a pivotal role in crafting APIs, ensuring system performance, and maintaining the resilience and operability of our services. While your core focus will be backend development, flexibility to collaborate with frontend codebases (React, TypeScript) is valued.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs that ensure seamless communication across systems.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and security.

• Conduct thorough code reviews, and contribute to shared codebases and best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and contribute to UI-related tasks when required

Infrastructure & CI/CD

• Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Use Azure DevOps pipelines to ensure efficient CI/CD workflows.
• Leverage infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) for environment consistency.

Collaboration

• Engage with product managers, frontend engineers, designers, and DevOps to deliver value.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies (scrum, planning, retrospectives).
• Contribute to technical design discussions and architecture reviews.

Continuous Innovation

• Utilize Generative AI (GenAI) tools to improve productivity in development and testing.
• Stay up to date with industry trends in backend engineering, cloud computing, and microservice design.

Must-Have

• 4–6 years of experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API design.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases.
• Familiarity with containerized deployments and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control.

Nice-to-Have

• Exposure to Azure Cloud services.
• Experience with performance tuning, observability (e.g., using Prometheus/Grafana), and incident resolution.
• Familiarity with Helm, Istio, or other service mesh technologies.
• Prior use of AI-enhanced developer tools.
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks especially React.
