Logistics Operations Specialist

This role is pivotal to the organization's supply chain efficiency. It requires a meticulous individual with analytical skills and the ability to manage complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Secure transportation quotes and arrange logistics for minor equipment orders.
  • Coordinate the movement and forwarding of oversized, heavy lift project cargo.
  • Monitor interactions with freight forwarders, third-party agencies, ports, customs, subcontractors, and handling agencies.
  • Create bid tabs/requisitions for transportation costs in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Submit RFQs, negotiate with customs/excise authorities, and oversee documentation for inbound and outbound cargo.
  • Review drawings/packaging and verify shipping limitations between engineering and DOT regulations.
  • Participate in logistics team meetings and represent the Logistics Manager as requested.
  • Oversee loadings and off-loadings, attend site planning meetings with carriers and customers, and manage freight budgets.
  • Develop strategic plans to optimize logistics operations, reduce waste, and minimize inventory costs.
  • Determine the most cost-effective mode of transportation within given constraints.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent from an accredited institution (preferred).
  • Experience in logistics, operations, or project management (preferred).
  • 2-5 years of experience in transportation/procurement (preferred).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities, strong time management skills, and demonstrated analytical and computer skills.
