Senior Optical Imaging Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Optics Engineer to design and develop the electron-optical column for our Scanning Electron Microscope.
The ideal candidate will be a key member of the founding team, shaping the architecture and culture of the company while working hands-on to deliver high-resolution, stable imaging with clean contrast.
Key Responsibilities:- Architect and align the column for high-resolution, low-drift performance, establishing practical tuning workflows for production and service.
- Translate optics theory into tolerances, calibration routines, and alignment jigs that are repeatable outside the lab.
- Co-design with Electronics to ensure deterministic beam control and with Software to expose intuitive imaging controls.
- Build and maintain the calibration playbook - resolution, magnification, distortion - and train others to run it.
- Deep experience in electron optics, including hands-on experience with alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology.
- Ability to move between modeling, bench work, and factory documentation comfortably.
- Clear communication skills to turn complex optics into simple, teachable procedures.
- Consistent high-resolution images with minimal retuning.
- Repeatable calibration across builds and over time.
- Fast diagnosis and recovery when alignment drifts.
