Product Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for the development of new products and optimization of existing formulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new products by investigating API characteristics and viability, defining material characteristics, performing testing, and conducting scale-up studies.
  • Lead the execution/development of new formulations by understanding project scope, defining activities and timelines, and ensuring periodic monitoring and timely completion.
  • Identify resource requirements for projects, including materials, manpower, and machine change parts, and assimilate literature information collected by project teams.
  • Develop R&D plans and experimental designs by applying QBD principles, analyze data to provide relevant interpretation, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations for further advancement in product development.
  • Plan and coordinate lab-scale up/optimization and pilot BE batches, ensuring strict adherence to lab GMP system and practices.
  • Review lab experiment notebooks and prepare and review technology transfer documents.
  • Liaise and coordinate with technology transfer team/produciton team to ensure seamless technology transfer by executing plant-scale up and exhibit batches.
  • Program for the optimization of existing product performance by investigating API characteristics and finished products, researching viability, safety, and compatibility of ingredients and formulas.
  • Check stability protocols, monitor stability studies, and evaluate/interpret results to advance further for product development activity accordingly.
  • Communicate with various departments, including project management, analytical development, supply chain team, clinical, regulatory, and IP department, to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Prepare new departmental SOPs, manuals, and guidelines documents as required and renew existing documents.
  • Monitor IQ, OQ, and PQ activities of new machines and ensure proper functioning and maintenance of all equipment and instruments.
  • Ensure proper training of subordinates, technicians, and housekeeping personnel on various equipment, instruments, and systems.
  • Ensure proper storage and destruction of raw materials and finished goods and maintain up-to-date RLD samples inventory.
  • Participate in departmental audits and ensure compliance to recommendations.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in technology, conceptual thinking, presentation, and communication skills.

Qualifications & Pre-Requisites:

  • Master in pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
  • Formulation development experience of Solid and Liquid Oral; preferred experience in Pellets projects.
