About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Development Lead to join our team at SHL. As a leader in the AI team, you will conceptualize AI-based products and work with a team of research/software engineers to deliver robust AI/ML models. Your close collaboration with the product team will enable you to spot opportunities to use AI in the current product stack and influence the product roadmap by incorporating AI-led features/products.

Your responsibilities will include being a hands-on expert practitioner for development and experimentation in the application of one or more areas related to AI/ML - NLP, speech processing, and computer vision. You will work with a team of ML engineers to deliver solutions in time and with efficiency, staying agile and continuously looking for AI-powered wins in talent solutions and HR domain. As an end-to-end owner of model development, deployment, and subsequent maintenance, you will mentor the team on essential ML concepts such as sampling, model selection, bias/variance studies, model fairness, statistical validity, etc. You will also work with the team to develop creative ways of data collection, labelling, and validation, and be a problem-solver, working closely with the product team to scope problems where AI/ML can help. Additionally, you will work on creating proper technical documents and aid in the creation of customer-facing documents, being a continuous learner and keeping yourself and the team updated with the latest in AI/ML space. Finally, you will work with the team to put together paper manuscripts and publish in top ML conferences and journals.

About You

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of ML theory and concepts, and statistics, as well as strong theoretical and practical skills in any one of the domains i.e., vision, NLP, or speech. Relevant experience in building and deploying robust AI/ML models in the industry is also required, along with the ability to manage and work with a team of research/software engineers. Our tech stack is based on Python, and you should be able to code and quickly try out ideas/prototypes.
