Search Solutions Specialist

About the Role:

  • We're seeking a highly skilled Search Solutions Specialist to design and implement cutting-edge search solutions using OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
  • You'll work closely with data engineers and product teams to deliver high-quality search experiences that meet complex business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop custom search pipelines, including query builders and analyzers, to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  2. Implement AI/ML/LLM powered search experiences to improve data enrichment and search relevance.
  3. Develop robust APIs for search using Python (FastAPI) and lead efforts in integration, regression, and performance testing.
  4. Automate deployment and management of search infrastructure, including index templates and search pipelines.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch in production environments.
  • Expert level expertise in Python, with experience building APIs (preferably FastAPI).
  • Deep understanding of search concepts, including analysers, tokenisers, relevance tuning, and query DSL.
  • Proficiency in designing and optimising search pipelines and custom query builders.
  • Strong testing background: integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • DevOps skills: automation, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with S3, AWS Lambda, and cloud-native architectures.
