Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing and prototyping with laser line profilers, displacement sensors, ultrasonic probes, and cameras
  • Providing hardware selection support
  • Developing mounts and enclosures that withstand harsh factory conditions
  • Integrating sensor systems with DAQ tools, PLCs, and basic OpenCV scripts
  • Collaborating with customers on pilot deployments across various sites
  • Troubleshooting and iterating quickly to resolve any issues that arise
Success Metrics:
  • You can navigate a complex factory setup, design a mount, wire up a sensor, and obtain usable data
  • When problems occur, you can identify and implement fixes efficiently to keep the pilot moving forward
  • Comfortable articulating your thoughts on what works and what doesn't, and how to improve it
  • Clients see our systems successfully implemented in their environments due to your hands-on contributions
  • Problem-solver first: you prioritize functionality over aesthetics
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in sensors, automation, or machine vision
  • Knowledge of laser triangulation, ultrasonic NDT, or machine vision systems
  • Ability to design practical mechanical setups (mounts, fixtures, enclosures)
  • Proficiency in Python/OpenCV/DAQ basics and PLC connections
  • Willingsness to work in high-heat/industrial environments
  • Based in India, with flexibility to travel for deployments
  • Available ~20 hrs/week (flexible schedule)
