Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned leader to manage a team of data engineers, SREs, and operations staff supporting accounting and finance technology platforms.

The Manager will oversee the smooth running of Accounting and Finance systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and data accuracy.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of engineers and operations staff, providing coaching, feedback, and career development support.
  • Ensure project deliverables and operational commitments are met on time with high quality and compliance.
  • Oversee the smooth running of Accounting and Finance platforms, adhering to SLAs for availability, reliability, and data accuracy.
  • Ensure effective resolution of incidents; coordinate root cause analysis and track corrective actions.
  • Ensure the team follows established engineering, SRE, and operational best practices (code reviews, change management, monitoring, compliance).
  • Assign work across the team, balancing project and operational demands.
  • Track and report on team progress, system performance, and operational metrics to senior leadership.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7-10 years of experience in technology roles, with 2–3 years in people management of engineering or operations teams.
  • Experience managing delivery of technical projects or supporting mission-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with financial systems, accounting platforms, or financial data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of operational practices including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills with the ability to partner with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

Must have experience with people management for a data engineering team responsible for building scalable data pipelines for financial systems.
