Research Scientist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our organization. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for designing and executing synthetic routes to prepare small molecules for drug discovery programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute synthetic routes to prepare small molecules for drug discovery programmes
  • Track SAR and optimize potency, selectivity, and properties of small molecules for research programs
  • Perform purification and structural characterization of compounds
  • Troubleshoot synthetic problems and optimize reaction conditions
  • Provide guidance and support to junior colleagues
  • Maintain accurate lab records and contribute to technical reports
  • Collaborate with analytical teams as needed
  • Contribute to intellectual property activities

Requirements:

  • M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related field
  • PhD in organic chemistry / medicinal chemistry
  • Postdoc in organic chemistry / Medicinal chemistry (Optional)
  • 0-4 years of hands-on experience in working on bench, preferably in an industry

Desirable Skills:

  • Skilled in multistep organic synthesis, reaction optimization, and compound isolation
  • Proficient in chromatography (TLC, column, flash), spectroscopic analysis (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC), and purification techniques (recrystallization, precipitation, others)
  • Familiarity with reaction databases (e.g., Reaxys, SciFinder)
  • Proficiency using MS Office applications is required

The successful candidate will have a strong background in organic chemistry and experience in synthetic route design and execution. You will be responsible for optimizing reaction conditions, tracking SAR, and maintaining accurate lab records.
