  • Our company is seeking a highly skilled Landing Gear Systems Engineer to lead complex projects and drive innovation in aircraft design.
  • As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating and selecting design solutions that meet programme requirements, balancing technical and project perspectives.
  • You will also support LGS integration through system/sub-system interface document development, ensuring seamless communication between teams.
  • Additionally, you will lead Landing Gear system/sub-system Qualification and Certification activities for future modifications/repairs, including planning, oversight, and evidence evaluation.
  • Defining and overseeing Test and Evaluation activities, including physical tests and simulations for compliance verification, is another critical aspect of this role.
  • Managing system/sub-system requirements and generating specifications for Main and Nose Gear, Wheel, Tyre, and Brake systems will require strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Providing support for legacy military systems, including addressing queries, defect reports, and operational occurrences, will also be an essential part of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and select design solutions to meet programme requirements, balancing technical and project perspectives.
  • Support LGS integration through system/sub-system interface document development.
  • Lead Landing Gear system/sub-system Qualification and Certification activities for future modifications/repairs, including planning, oversight, and evidence evaluation.
  • Define and oversee Test and Evaluation activities, including physical tests and simulations for compliance verification.
  • Manage system/sub-system requirements and generate specifications for Main and Nose Gear, Wheel, Tyre, and Brake systems.
  • Control project timelines, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and quality standards.
  • Provide support for legacy military systems, including addressing queries, defect reports, and operational occurrences.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of Aircraft System Qualification and Certification.
  • Strong process optimization, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Experience in project management and work package coordination.
  • Expertise in Landing Gear systems development and analysis.
  • Proficient in Verification & Validation, including lab and flight test analysis.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and test case creation.
  • Ability to manage and deliver large, complex projects.
  • Experience writing technical specifications at both equipment and system levels.
  • Expertise in software/systems engineering, particularly in Integration & Verification testing.
  • Aerospace (LG Systems) background with familiarity with standards (ARP4754, ARP4761, DO160, DO178, DO254, AFDX, ARINC 429).
  • Proficiency in tools like Catia V5, MSC ADAMS, MATLAB, Simulink, or IBM DOORS.
  • Experience with LGS Qualification activities and testing methodologies.
