Job Requirements and SkillsThe Senior Interior Designer will lead the design and execution of high-end internal interior design projects, including experiential ateliers, new facilities, flagship international stores, client events, and trade show/exhibition setups. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and project management skills to deliver exceptional interiors.
Key Skills:
- Understanding of luxury and design principles
- Strong portfolio showcasing sophisticated interior design projects
- Proven ability to manage large-scale, high-budget projects from concept to completion
- Strong organizational skills to oversee timelines, budgets, and team coordination
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other 3D rendering tools
- Understanding of the operational and executional functioning of interior designers and architects at both Indian and international levels
- Willingness to travel as required for project needs
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, good personality, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships at all levels. They will be able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong analytical skills and the ability to measure and report on communication effectiveness.
Major ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for:
- Creating multiple design concepts for interior spaces, including experiential ateliers, company facilities, and international flagship stores
- Designing bespoke layouts for events, exhibitions, and trade shows, ensuring each design aligns with the brand's aesthetic
- Leading design presentations to senior management and stakeholders
- Overseeing the entire design process, from initial concept to final installation, ensuring internal projects are completed on time
- Coordinating with architects, contractors, and vendors to execute designs to the highest standards
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring consistency and quality across all design outputs
The Senior Interior Designer will serve as the primary point of contact for external design agencies, architects, and contractors, regularly updating stakeholders on project progress and making adjustments as needed.
Technical Drawings and DocumentationThe Senior Interior Designer will prepare and oversee the creation of precise technical drawings, ensuring all designs are accurately represented for construction with proper approval of senior management. They will ensure that all drawings comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Material and Product SelectionThe Senior Interior Designer will source and select premium materials, furnishings, fixtures, and finishes that align with the brand's luxury positioning, ensuring all elements meet the required quality and aesthetic standards.
Vendor and Supplier CoordinationThe Senior Interior Designer will work in close coordination with the Purchase department to ensure effective communication with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality of products, materials, and design spaces.
Quality AssuranceThe Senior Interior Designer will conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that design implementations meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and precision, addressing and resolving any issues that arise during the construction or installation phases.
Exhibition and Event DesignThe Senior Interior Designer will create immersive, visually stunning exhibition spaces for trade shows and brand events, designing spaces that not only showcase products but also engage and captivate the audience.
Client ExperienceThe Senior Interior Designer will establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences, presenting design proposals and concepts tailored to meet client requirements, and acting as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through every step of the design process.
Innovation and Trend AwarenessThe Senior Interior Designer will stay current with global design trends, particularly in the luxury sector, and incorporate these into design concepts, experimenting with new materials, technologies, and design approaches to create cutting-edge spaces.
Travel and On-Site SupervisionThe Senior Interior Designer will travel as needed to internal project sites within India and outside, as well as client locations, to oversee design implementation and ensure adherence to plans, conducting continuous on-site supervision and inspections to ensure the quality and precision of the work.
Education and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate degree in interior designing and a minimum of 7 years of experience in luxury/high-end residential projects.
This position is based in Jaipur, with occasional travel required.
