Cloud Architect Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and implementing public cloud solutions, as well as experience with automation, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices.

  • The Cloud Architect will be instrumental in designing and planning robust public cloud solutions, primarily across Azure, and secondarily AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
  • They will lead and deliver projects encompassing systems architecture, proof-of-concept, and deployment services.
  • The Cloud Architect will provide expert guidance to clients through Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF) engagements.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Expert understanding of cloud infrastructure, primarily Azure, secondarily AWS and/or GCP.
  • Experience with on-premise to cloud migrations.
  • Designing and deploying cloud architectures that include disaster recovery sites, as well as designing, implementing, and executing failovers and failbacks.
  • In-depth experience in automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Configuration-as-Code (CaC), and management of cloud-hosted resources.
  • Experience working in a DevOps and Agile culture.
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go, and/or Ruby.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies or cloud providers are highly valued, or demonstration of ongoing learning.
  • 7+ years of experience in consulting services or similar roles focused on project-based work and/or solution development.
