Structural Design Specialist Role">

The primary function of a Structural Design Specialist is to create 3D models and 2D production drawings in accordance with industry standards and best practices. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and clients to coordinate BIM modeling content, approaches, model exchanges, quality control, and delivery.

">Key Responsibilities:">
  • Model Development: Create 3D models consistent with instruction, industry guidelines, and company standards.">
  • Drawing Production: Annotate, dimension, and detail 2D production drawings in conformance to industry standards.">
  • BIM Workflow Management: Manage the BIM workflow including folder organization, sheet sets, geo-location, plots, conversions, and transmittals.">
  • File Maintenance: Maintain structural BIM / CAD files for use in the structural design drawings (clean-up, audit, reference, troubleshooting).">
  • Collaboration and Interface: Interface with engineers and clients to coordinate BIM modelling content and approaches, model exchanges, quality control, and delivery.">
  • Project Collaboration Tools: Use tools such as Navisworks for project collaboration across multiple disciplines.">
  • Deliverables Preparation: Prepare and review project deliverables for client submissions.">
  • Visualizations: Create 3D views or renderings on an as-needed basis for marketing or project use.">
">Qualifications and Skills:">
  • Experience: 0 to 3 years of experience in preparing structural construction documents using Revit/BIM project delivery.">
  • Software Proficiency: Up-to-date knowledge and expertise with Revit software.">
  • Additional Skills: Strong understanding of how a building comes together.">
  • Communication Skills: Ability to think in 3-D, draw sections and details with minimal input from the engineer, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.">
