Our organization is seeking an accomplished Linux professional to manage and maintain our Linux operating systems. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in Linux system administration, including building and configuring virtual machines, software package installation, account management, file permissions, and system tuning.

The role requires expertise in various areas such as:

  • Linux (RedHat 6/7/8, CentOS) with a nice to have additional Unix (Solaris/AIX)
  • General Unix/Linux administration tasks like creating and configuring VMs, installing software packages, managing user accounts, setting file permissions, and optimizing system performance
  • Advanced Linux skills – Shell scripting, LVM, TCP/UDP, SNMP, DNS, NFS, SSH, SUDO, syslog
  • System troubleshooting, service management, and hardening
  • Break/Fix procedures and release management
  • Strong understanding of OSI model-based TCP/IP networking in LAN/WAN environments
  • Excellent communication, time management, and presentation skills for effective collaboration across different organizational levels
  • Customer-facing experience when handling incident response situations
  • Experience working in VMware environments
  • Desirable cloud administration skills for AWS, Azure, Google

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Linux systems administrator or equivalent education/training
  • Degree resulting in an associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant certifications
  • Familiarity with ITIL and ticketing systems
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring systems
  • Relevant certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, CCENT, VMware VCP, AWS, Azure
