Job Overview:

  • This role involves preparing various pastries and dessert menu items according to provided recipes and photos.
  • The candidate will be assigned a station in the pastry galley by the Pastry Chef Tournant, which can be changed occasionally to familiarize with various tasks.
  • Responsibilities include managing some of the pastry and dessert production.
  • The role requires flexibility as the working hours may vary depending on operational needs.
  • The candidate will be responsible for setting up Pastry displays on buffets as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities include assisting with transportation of food items from main stores to pastry galley when assigned.
  • Cleanliness is a priority, and the candidate must ensure that the working area and utensils are cleaned and sanitized following United States Public Health rules and regulations at all times.
  • The candidate may occasionally be required to perform early standby duties in the pastry galley for USPH purposes.
  • As a representative of the organization, the candidate must be aware of and/or acquire necessary knowledge to comply with ship's standard operation, assist guests and crew members with inquiries.
  • Regular attendance at meetings, training activities, courses, and other work-related activities is expected.
  • Other related duties may also be assigned as required.

  3. Clean and sanitize working area and utensils following United States Public Health rules and regulations at all times.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years' experience as a Pastry Cook in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
  • High school diploma or basic education equivalency requirement.
