Job Opportunity: Server Administration Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level technical support to meet customer service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Maintain and optimize compute operations according to ITIL best practices
  • Install, maintain, monitor, decommission, and configure servers for special tasks beyond automated processes
  • Manage storage operations based on netapp-nfs protocols
  • Oversee package and repository management, as well as OS image maintenance
  • Implement patch management using BladeLogic Automation tools
  • Configure server monitoring and alert systems
  • Conduct performance tests and analysis
  • Analyze root causes of customer incidents
  • Develop and manage service/task documentation, testing, quality assurance, and knowledge transfer procedures

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in Linux server administration with hands-on expertise in Kubernetes. They should also possess a good understanding of LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables, along with strong troubleshooting skills in server down situations.

Additionally, the candidate should have associate-level knowledge in at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP), basic proficiency in automation tools and scripting (e.g., chef, bash, Perl), and experience working with GitHub and Jira. Knowledge/experience in monitoring with Prometheus on Docker setup and/or ELK stack would be beneficial.

Able to provide knowledge transfer from certain technology areas to 2nd level technical support staff.
