Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished accounting professional to oversee general accounting operations and manage a team of bookkeepers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, and experience collaborating with or managing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
  • Produce accurate accounting reports and present results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Plan, assign, and review staff's work
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA)
  • General computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Accounting tools: Familiarity with accounting software packages, like Xero, QuickBooks
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
