Database Migration Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned SQL Server DBA to lead and execute upgrade projects, design and manage Always On Availability Groups, and plan database migrations to AWS.

This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in SQL Server upgrades, cloud migrations, and ensuring performance, availability, security, and scalability of mission-critical databases.

  • Lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, implementing strategies that minimize downtime and ensure seamless data transfer.
  • Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Plan and implement database migrations to AWS, leveraging our extensive experience with AWS database migration services.
  • Monitor and optimize SQL Server performance, using advanced tools and techniques to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery testing, ensuring business continuity and minimizing risks.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments and proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.

  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022, with a focus on minimizing disruption and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration, including planning, execution, and testing.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development and performance tuning, with the ability to write efficient and scalable code.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills are required, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and AWS database migration
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development and performance tuning
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
