Credit Control Manager Job Description

This role is responsible for leading and managing the credit control function of the organization. The primary objective is to ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables, minimize bad debts, and maintain healthy cash flow.

  • The ideal candidate will develop and implement effective credit control policies, procedures, and credit limits to optimize revenue streams.
  • They must evaluate customer creditworthiness through comprehensive financial analysis, credit scoring, and risk assessments.
  • The Credit Control Manager will approve or recommend credit limits and payment terms, fostering strong relationships with key customers.
  • Monitoring accounts receivable ledgers to ensure all debts are collected promptly, reviewing and reconciling customer accounts regularly.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely allocation of receipts, maintaining transparent communication with customers.
  • Leading and managing the collections team to follow up on outstanding invoices, resolving disputes and escalating problematic cases to management when necessary.
  • Maintaining regular contact with key customers to secure payments, addressing their concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Preparing weekly/monthly reports on receivables, aging, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), bad debt provisions, and collection efficiency, highlighting high-risk accounts and overdue balances for senior management.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Legal, and Customer Service, to resolve credit issues and support customer relationships.
  • Managing, training, and motivating the credit control team, setting performance KPIs and reviewing team performance regularly to drive success.
  • E nsuring adherence to company credit policies and regulatory requirements, supporting internal and external audit processes as needed.
