Position Overview: The Wadhwani Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Program Manager to oversee the development and implementation of a large-scale citizen services platform for the government. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk and issue management, vendor management, and a keen analytical mindset. Experience working with Indian government entities is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Management:
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of the program, from planning and initiation to execution and closure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and status reports.
  • Ensure the program is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Risk and Issue Management:
  • Identify, analyze, and manage risks and issues throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Monitor and report on risk status and issue resolution.
Analytical and Technical Understanding:
  • Develop a deep understanding of the functional and technical aspects of the platform.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure alignment of project goals with business needs.
  • Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and measure program success.
Vendor Management:
  • Manage relationships with multiple vendors and third-party service providers.
  • Oversee vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and products.
Stakeholder Communication:
  • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including government officials, senior management, and team members.
  • Prepare and present project updates, status reports, and other necessary documentation.
  • Ensure stakeholder expectations are met and managed effectively.
Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure all project activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Adhere to best practices in project management and governance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in program or project management.
    • Proven experience in risk and issue management, vendor management, and analytical decision-making.
    • Prior experience working with Indian government entities is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in project management tools and software.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
    • Understanding of the technical aspects of platform development.

Desirable:

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification.
  • Experience in managing large-scale government or public sector projects.
