Furniture Designer Position

We are seeking a skilled Furniture Designer to collaborate on the creation of original design concepts in solid wood that align with our export strengths. As a key member of our design department, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing innovative designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct market research to understand customer preferences through sales data, social media, and international market trends
  • Develop original design concepts in solid wood (Mango, Oak, Acacia, Teak) aligned with our export strengths
  • Create production-ready drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar CAD tools
  • Collaborate with merchandising and sourcing teams to translate concepts into viable collections
  • Work with prototyping teams to refine joinery, finishes, ergonomics, and structural integrity
  • Incorporate KD (knock-down) joinery, export packaging standards, and compliance requirements
  • Develop design boards, line sheets, and client presentations for export buyers
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in furniture design, preferably in solid wood
  • Strong skills in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, etc.)
  • Knowledge of global furniture trends, ergonomics, finishing techniques, and joinery
  • Ability to translate abstract research into commercially viable designs
  • Good communication and presentation skills
Bonus Skills:
  • Experience with reclaimed or sustainable wood materials
  • Understanding of packaging and shipping for exports
  • Familiarity with American and European design preferences
  • Prior experience with export-oriented furniture markets
