Medical Illustrator Opportunity

A Medical Illustrator at Cactus Communications plays a pivotal role in accelerating the dissemination of scientific knowledge by creating accurate and visually compelling medical and scientific illustrations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-quality 2D/3D medical and surgical illustrations, anatomical drawings, and journal cover visuals that capture the essence of complex scientific concepts.
  • Collaborate with scientific writers and clients to understand technical content and translate it into precise and impactful visuals that meet the highest standards of accuracy and clarity.
  • E nsure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in representing scientific and medical subjects through meticulous research and attention to detail.
  • Work on a diverse range of projects, including medical figure enhancements, journal covers, graphical abstracts, and educational diagrams that cater to various audiences and purposes.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining design excellence through effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • E nsure scientific accuracy in every deliverable by reviewing source material and verifying details, upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Provide creative input and feedback to improve overall project output, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and growth.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience as a Medical Illustrator (or related role in scientific/medical visualization) with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in anatomy, physiology, and medical concepts.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Medical Illustration, Biomedical Visualization, Life Sciences, or related fields with a solid foundation in art, science, and communication.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other industry-standard software, with experience in 3D illustration tools like Blender, Cinema4D, ZBrush, or equivalent a significant advantage.
  • The ability to accurately depict anatomy, physiology, and medical concepts in visual form, demonstrating a deep understanding of complex scientific principles and their applications.
  • Excellent project management skills, enabling the handling of multiple projects and tight deadlines with precision and focus, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work products.
