EDP Data Platform Technical Business Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to support critical operations across process improvement, data platform engineering and automation, cost management, and infrastructure operations.

The successful candidate will contribute to the customer's strategic vision of expanding EDP data entitlement by analyzing workflows and operational processes to identify optimization opportunities.

They will also develop comprehensive KPIs and performance dashboards for platform monitoring and decision-making, as well as document and standardize operational procedures across EDP Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Data Engineering teams.

• Process Improvement & Strategic Analytics:
  • Analyze EDP platform workflows and operational processes to identify optimization opportunities
  • Develop comprehensive KPIs and performance dashboards for platform monitoring and decision-making
  • Support the Enterprise Data Council with data-driven insights for strategic direction and product management
  • Document and standardize operational procedures across EDP Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Data Engineering teams
  • Contribute to lifecycle management of IT platform products (Databricks, AWS services, Ataccama, etc.)
• FinOps & Cloud Cost Management:
  • Execute cloud cost optimization initiatives with focus on anomaly detection and cost avoidance strategies
  • Maintain sophisticated cost models and estimation frameworks for infrastructure services and resiliency capabilities
  • Support Reserved Instances (RI) and Savings Plans (SP) optimization to achieve annual 10% cost savings target
  • Generate strategic cost reporting and variance analysis for leadership and vendor management
  • Contribute to pricing models for resiliency capabilities and disaster recovery implementations
  • Support vendor management activities for AWS, Databricks, and other cloud technology providers
• Infrastructure Operations & Resiliency Support:
  • Monitor platform utilization, performance metrics, and operational health across EDP services
  • Support L1/L2 operational activities for EDP Vanguard (Operations & Support Team)
  • Assist with capacity planning, resource allocation, and infrastructure automation initiatives
  • Contribute to resiliency implementation planning, specifically for Nuclear critical pipelines
  • Support RTO/RPO analysis and disaster recovery cost modeling
  • Participate in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipeline analytics
  Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or related technical field
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and cloud operations
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for complex data analysis and automation
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platform and FinOps practices
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (PowerBI, Quicksight, or similar)
  • Understanding of infrastructure monitoring and cost optimization principles
  Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with big data analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of cloud cost management tools and advanced FinOps methodologies
  • Experience with utilities or energy industry data and operations
  • Familiarity with ITIL, process improvement frameworks, or operational excellence practices
  • AWS certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, or FinOps Certified)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipeline analytics
  • Understanding of disaster recovery planning and resiliency architecture

  • Reports to Technology Leadership team
  • Works closely with EDP Vanguard (Operations & Support), Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, and Architecture teams
  • Interfaces with Enterprise Data Council for strategic reporting and insights
  • Collaborates with vendor management for AWS, Databricks, and other technology providers
  • Supports cross-functional initiatives with IT parties and external consultants
