Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

Transform your organization's data landscape by driving collaboration between business and technical stakeholders.

This role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in metadata governance, business glossary management, and data ownership frameworks.

  • Define, maintain, and govern enterprise-wide Business Glossary and Metadata Hub to ensure consistent definitions across domains.
  • Collaborate with Data Owners, SMEs, and Data Architects to assign data ownership, stewardship roles, and accountability for critical data assets.
  • Support ongoing metadata curation and enrichment efforts, ensuring metadata completeness, quality, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish workflows for metadata onboarding, change management, versioning, and lifecycle governance.
  • Work closely with Governance, Risk, Compliance, and IT teams to support data classification, policy enforcement, and regulatory alignment.
  • Assist in generating data lineage documentation and support catalogue integration efforts.
  • Provide periodic reports and metrics on metadata completeness, glossary usage, and stewardship activities.
  • Champion metadata awareness and drive data literacy initiatives across business units.
Key Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance principles, metadata management, and data stewardship frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Business Glossary, Metadata Hub, or metadata management/collaboration tools (e.g., Collibra).
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Working knowledge of data modelling, data lineage, and data quality concepts.
  • Familiarity with SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake).
