Data Engineering Role

Job Summary:

A data engineer is required to design and develop data pipelines, data marts, and data models to support business intelligence and advanced analytics initiatives. The successful candidate will have expertise in ETL tools, data warehousing, and cloud-enabled technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing relevant data to generate business intelligence and advanced analytics datasets
  • Designing data pipelines to curate sourced data into an in-house data warehouse
  • Designing data marts to facilitate dataset consumption by business stakeholders
  • Migrating data from existing database solutions to the in-house data warehouse
  • Regularly maintaining raw data and data stored in the in-house data warehouse
  • Building and maintaining data pipelines and data platforms
  • Developing analytical tooling to support business intelligence and advanced data analytics activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline from a top-tier university
  • Certification in AWS data engineer specialty or AWS solution architect associate
  • Snowflake SnowPro core certification
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role, preferably in the financial industry
  • Strong understanding of ETL, data warehouse, and business intelligence concepts, as well as enterprise agile frameworks

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in ETL tools, data warehousing, and cloud-enabled technologies (AWS RDS and AWS Fargate)
  • Experience with databases and data warehouses (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MS SQL)
  • Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python
  • Practical experience with ETL tools (AWS Glue)
