Job Title: Automotive Mirror Design Engineer
Job Summary:
We seek an experienced design engineer to develop outside rear view mirror (ORVM) and inside rear view mirror (IRVM) systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in automotive mirror systems, including design, development, and validation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of ORVM & IRVM systems from concept to production.
- Ensure compliance with global homologation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including styling, packaging, and manufacturing.
- Prepare and review 3D CAD models, drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs).
- Conduct design reviews and failure mode effects analysis (DFMEA) for mirror systems.
- Interface with suppliers for tooling feasibility and manufacturing readiness.
- Support prototype development and testing activities.
- Address design changes and improvements based on feedback and validation results.
Requirements:
- 6–12 years of experience in automotive ORVM/IRVM design.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA V5 preferred).
- Strong knowledge of mirror system components, materials, and mechanisms.
- Familiarity with vehicle integration, ergonomics, and styling constraints.
- Experience in homologation and regulatory compliance for mirror systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes like injection molding, painting, and assembly.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
