Project Manager - Civil Engineering

Overview:

  • We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our civil engineering projects.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, cost estimation, and contract administration.
  • They should possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project success through collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects under cost-plus contracts.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Manage and administer cost-plus contracts, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of project documentation, including contracts, budgets, cost estimates, invoices, and project changes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) is highly valued.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in civil engineering project management, with a focus on cost-plus contracts and construction projects.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred. Any relevant project management certifications (e.g., PMP, APMP) will be advantageous.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Cost Management Expertise: Strong understanding of cost-plus contract structures, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Project Management: Proven track record in managing complex civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Construction Knowledge: Expertise in civil engineering construction practices, project lifecycle, and construction documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues early and resolve problems proactively to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and drive project success through collaboration.

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficiency with Construction Management Software: Experience with software tools like Procore, Buildertrend, or similar construction management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Industry Standards & Codes: Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices for civil engineering projects.
  • Cost Estimation Software: Familiarity with tools like Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or other cost estimation platforms.
