Job Title: AI Applications Expert

The role of the AI Applications Engineer - SME is pivotal in driving strategic implementation and governance of AI tools, ensuring precision, security, and compliance in technological capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and manage data privacy controls to prevent sensitive data training for AI models.
  • Deliver comprehensive audit logs and compliance reporting for OpenAI usage.
  • Implement robust guardrails and moderation tools to enhance AI application security and reliability.
  • Track and analyze model performance metrics, producing regular reports for leadership decisions.
  • Optimize prompt engineering and evaluate cost-performance trade-offs for AI tool efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to API calls, latency, and integration failures.
  • Maintain an internal admin guide with setup/configuration steps, governance rules, and best practices for AI tool management.
  • Develop knowledge bases and wikis for developers and end users to facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Deliver training sessions for IT staff to expand expertise in managing OpenAI tools.
  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for OpenAI-related incidents, providing expert-level support and resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in AI applications engineering or a related role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AI tools, particularly Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy controls and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in configuring and managing AI tool environments securely and effectively.
