Expert Platform Manager Needed

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the management and migration of workloads from VMware to Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization platform.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in OpenShift Container Platform and Kubernetes core concepts, as well as hands-on experience with Linux operating systems including system administration, kernel tuning, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, automate, monitor, and perform day 2 operations on our production-grade RedHat OpenShift Container Platform using the OpenShift Virtualization operator.
  • Lead and execute the migration of virtual servers from VMware vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization using tools like virt-v2v and CDI.
  • Proactively monitor platform health, performance, and capacity, performing tuning and optimization of nodes, storage, and networks for virtualized workloads.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to OpenShift Virtualization, KubeVirt, CNI, and storage.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices for the platform, including hardening, role-based access control, and network policies.
  • Design and implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for containerized and virtualized workloads.
  • Develop automation scripts using Ansible, Terraform, or Golang to manage the platform efficiently.

As a principal level expert, you will architect the platform strategy, define migration roadmaps, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers and team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • 6+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization in production.
  • Deep expertise in OpenShift Container Platform and Kubernetes core concepts.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible Automation Platform and Terraform.
  • Day 2 Operations and Troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals: Pods, Deployments, Stateful Sets, Services, Networking, Storage, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems including system administration, kernel tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid knowledge of container technology (Docker, CRI-O).
