Key System Architect Role

This role is critical to establishing our delivery capacity and intellectual property within a new MES practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Solution Architecture:
    • Define and own end-to-end MES architecture for greenfield and brownfield implementations.
    • Create scalable, modular architectures aligned with ISA-95, ISA-88, and Industry 4.0 standards.
    • Translate business and functional requirements into technical blueprints.
    • Ensure MES solutions integrate seamlessly with ERP, SCADA, PLC, historians, and IIoT platforms.
  • Pre-Sales & Proposal Support:
    • Collaborate with the MES Practice Lead on RFPs, proposals, and client workshops.
    • Create solution architectures, effort estimates, and delivery models for new pursuits.
    • Support creation of reusable solution assets, demos, and accelerators.
  • Project Delivery Support:
    • Guide MES development teams during project implementation.
    • Review functional and technical specifications for accuracy and completeness.
    • Lead architecture reviews and technical troubleshooting in complex scenarios.
    • Ensure quality, performance, and scalability standards are met.
  • Collaboration & Innovation:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including functional consultants, developers, and data engineers.
    • Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, OEM platforms, and integration patterns.
    • Contribute to internal capability building through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Experience in MES/PLM domain, with experience in a solution architecture role.
    • Deep hands-on expertise in one or more MES platforms: GE Proficy (Plant Applications, Historian, Workflow), Rockwell FactoryTalk Production Centre, Siemens Opcenter (previously SIMATIC IT), Eyelit MES, Wonderware, AVEVA, SAP MII/SAP DM.
    • Strong understanding of shop floor systems, manufacturing data models, and production operations (OEE, traceability, quality, scheduling).
    • Proficient in integrating MES with PLCs, SCADA systems, and ERP (SAP/Oracle).
    • Familiarity with standards like OPC, MQTT, REST APIs, SQL databases, and edge computing.
  • Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:
    • Exposure to regulated industries like pharmaceuticals, Aerospace, or automotive.
    • Experience with MES in cloud/hybrid architectures (Azure, AWS).
    • Understanding of digital twin, predictive maintenance, and IIoT analytics integration.
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
