Description:

A visionary Cloud Engineer II is responsible for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure on AWS. This role ensures alignment with business objectives, scalability requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Design scalable, secure, and highly available AWS architectures
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust AWS solutions (DevOps, Development, Security)
  • Implement AWS monitoring systems and security measures to safeguard environments
  • Evaluate compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies
  • Develop strategies for optimizing AWS costs without compromising performance or security
  • Respond to system alerts, investigate and resolve related system failures, and recover/restores failed systems and applications
  • Mentor team members in all facets listed above

Required Skills / Experience:

  • 7-9 years experience in Information Technology
  • Strong experience implementing access control using IAM
  • Experience with repository management (Git)
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, and monitoring AWS Workspaces
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible Tower, AWS CloudFormation)
  • Strong AWS implementation and administration experience
  • Experience monitoring/maintaining secure networking practices within the AWS infrastructure
  • Experience monitoring/maintaining multi-region disaster recovery solutions using AWS services
  • Experience with CloudTrail and CloudWatch
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and processes to achieve commitments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to all levels of the organization
  • Process and technical documentation skills

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • Scripting capability and ability to develop scripted AWS infrastructure
  • General understanding of multi-region and hybrid cloud architectures
