About the Role

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lead a team of 450+ designers across five studios in India, working on a wide range of engagements for clients from around the world.

You will be responsible for driving design quality, craft, and practice, continuously enhancing overall competency of the team. This includes creating award-winning work and setting up the India studios as true peers in quality of outcomes to all other global studios.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the scale of the design operation from India, including growing team size, complex client engagements, and deep collaboration with global teams.
  • Drive design quality, craft, and practice, enhancing overall competency of the team.
  • Evaluate our service offering and value propositions to clients, developing new models for agile engagements.
  • Provide strategic design thought leadership to the organisation, publishing and speaking at internal and external events.
  • Guide and direct new business strategy, approach, and concept creation for proposals.
  • Facilitate design-focused sessions and engaging workshops with C-suite clients.
  • Cultivate relationships with new and existing clients, uncovering opportunities to apply strategic thinking and creative craft.
  • Assess performance and provide career mentorship and performance decisions for senior team members.
  • Help attract top talent to the studios, building the brand and maintaining hiring standards.
  • Work closely with global CXO and regional counterparts to evolve best practice and refine engagement models.

As a true design practitioner, you will have grown and matured in experience and remit but still maintain hands-on design skills. You will guide the planning of design thinking workshops, inform user research or service design challenges, structure CX Centers of Excellence, or set up design systems.

Requirements
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience, 7+ years leadership/management experience of teams of 50+ designers.
  • A background in the agency world or running large-scale teams for startups and organisations in-house.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes.
  • Mastery in Product Design, Service Design, User Research, demonstrated through outstanding work performed by teams led by you.
  • References about your leadership style and outcomes.
  • Proven experience building aligned connections globally as a respected leader in the design community.
  • Highly proactive with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
