Job Title: Category Portfolio Manager

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly analytical and business-driven category manager to own and scale key product categories. This role will be responsible for assortment planning, pricing, vendor management, and P&L ownership of the category.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute category strategy for non-apparel verticals such as footwear, bags, watches, beauty, or other lifestyle categories by analyzing market trends and consumer behavior.
  • Identify growth opportunities and market gaps in the category to build differentiated product offerings that meet customer needs.
  • Own the P&L for the category – sales, margins, inventory, and marketing spends to drive profitability and conversion.
  • Assortment & Merchandising:
    • Plan product assortment in line with consumer demand, seasonality, and market trends to ensure optimal inventory levels and reduce waste.
    • Work closely with merchandising and marketing teams to design campaigns, promotions, and seasonal collections that resonate with customers.
    • Optimize pricing, discounting, and promotions to drive revenue growth and improve profit margins.
  • Vendor & Brand Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and brands to negotiate terms, pricing, and supply commitments that support business objectives.
    • Onboard new brands and products aligned with category strategy to expand product offerings and enhance customer experience.
    • Ensure seamless vendor operations from procurement to fulfillment to minimize disruptions and delays.
  • Operations & Performance Management:
    • Collaborate with supply chain, inventory, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products and optimize inventory levels.
    • Monitor daily sales, stock levels, and category performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions when required.
    • Conduct regular competitive analysis to benchmark pricing, product assortment, and category trends to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with marketing teams to execute category campaigns and promotions that drive engagement and conversion.
    • Work closely with product and tech teams to enhance category visibility, navigation, and consumer journey to improve customer satisfaction.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to finance on budgets, forecasting, and ROI measurement to inform business decisions.
