Job Title: Intellectual Property Strategist

This role will play a key part in the development and management of our company's intellectual property portfolio.

  • The incumbent will lead a team in a dynamic environment, delivering results that can grow along with fast-paced work environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the growing IP portfolio to drive business growth.
  • Enforce IP processes to ensure optimal protection of intellectual property and third-party partner interests.
  • Work closely with Global IP Head, Research and Development, and Portfolio teams to:
  • Identify products for introduction into the development grid.
  • Devise and manage the most effective product development strategy for the portfolio.
  • Identify patentable inventions and provide guidance on patentability.
  • Draft patents, freedom to operate reports, infringement analysis, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
  • File and prosecute inventive solutions to build wealth of intellectual property.
  • Monitor and evaluate third-party scientific and patent publications.
  • Provide IP-related inputs to support legal agreements and negotiations.
  • Partner with other legal and business functions to provide strategic advice and strategy in connection with M&A transactions, licensing agreements, research collaborations, adverse proceedings, and litigation activities.
  • Manage patent, trademark, copyright, and related issues.
  • Maintain appropriate record architecture and content of inventions, know-how, trade secrets, and registered intellectual property.
  • Educate management and scientists on best practices for invention and intellectual property protection.
  • Lead, empower, and coach a team of IP professionals.
