Technical Engineering Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Engineering Leader to join our Bangalore engineering team. As part of LinkedIn's India initiatives, you will lead a team of engineers in developing new products and services, as well as scaling existing ones for the fast-growing Indian market.
About the RoleAs a Technical Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for managing the performance and career development of your team, owning significant parts of LinkedIn products that require design, architecture, and coding. You will also participate in developing a long-term technology roadmap with senior management.
You will be a role model and professional coach for engineers, with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship. Additionally, you will work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing teams to scale distributed applications, making architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, reviewing code, and delivering with speediness and quality.
- Developing multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.
- Producing high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with 8+ years of relevant engineering work experience and 2+ years of hands-on technical management experience.
- 5+ years of software design and coding experience in languages such as Java or C++.
- 1+ year of management experience or 1+ year of staff-level engineering experience with management training.
A plus if you have:
- 3+ years of management experience in building small to medium-sized teams, demonstrating growth and a track record of successful deliveries.
- 3+ years of experience in building and working with production-grade systems.
- Shipped several large-scale projects with dependencies across multiple teams.
- Built and delivered on successful cross-functional partnerships across multiple teams.
- Been actively involved in creation and execution of technical strategy and roadmap.
- Actively coached, mentored, and grown team members in their careers.
- Track record in partnering with recruiting to hire and build incredible engineering teams.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around $180,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on location and experience. We offer a range of benefits, including generous health and wellness programs, time away for employees of all levels, and opportunities for growth and development.
