Job Title:
Sourcing and Procurement Specialist

To manage the procurement function efficiently by identifying reliable vendors, negotiating cost-effective purchases, ensuring timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and services required for smooth manufacturing operations, while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

This role involves

  • Procurement Strategy Development: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors for raw materials, machinery spares, consumables, and services.
  • Negotiation and Contracting: Obtain quotations, compare price, quality, and delivery terms, and finalize purchase orders. Develop alternate sourcing strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply.

Vendor Management:

  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Evaluation and Performance Management: Conduct vendor performance evaluation based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.

Purchase Operations:

  • Order Issuance: Issue Purchase Orders (POs) in line with company policies and approvals.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production schedule.

Cost Optimization:

  • Benchmarking: Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Contract Negotiation: Benchmark prices and identify opportunities for bulk/long-term contracts.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate procurement records (POs, invoices, GRNs, contracts).
  • Audit Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and audit requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Negotiation and Communication: Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving: Analytical and problem-solving ability.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Supply Chain / Engineering / Management.
  • Work Experience: 2–5 years of experience in procurement/purchase in a manufacturing/industrial setup.
