Senior Structural Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to lead our structural engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and technical skills to manage junior engineers, coordinate with external consultants, and provide strategic direction for the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and manage a team of junior structural engineers.
  • Coordinate with appointed structural Engineering Consultant and Peer reviewer.
  • Provide technical guidance and performance reviews for the structural team/ consultant.

Project Management & Execution

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing structural engineering projects from concept through completion. This includes scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Strong project management skills are essential to ensure timely delivery of engineering designs, plans, and documents within quality and cost parameters.

Structural Design & Analysis

The Senior Structural Engineer will lead and review the development of structural design for buildings, retaining walls, and other structures. This involves overseeing the preparation of detailed engineering calculations, load assessments, and finite element analysis using software tools such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, RCDC. Strong analytical skills are required to validate design assumptions and methodologies against applicable international and local standards.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders on structural matters. This involves participating in design charrettes, pre-construction meetings, and construction progress meetings. Strong communication skills are essential to prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and recommendations to senior management through the appointed consultants.
