Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and management of our mission-critical, scalable database solutions. This role requires an expert-level understanding of distributed PostgreSQL architectures, the Citus open-source extension, and a deep expertise in Azure cloud services.

The ideal candidate will be a thought leader who can architect robust, performant, and cost-effective database systems and provide technical guidance to both development and operations teams.

  • Lead the architectural design of highly scalable and available database solutions using Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL.
  • Develop and evangelize best practices for data modeling, sharding, and partitioning strategies to optimize for both transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) workloads.
  • Evaluate and recommend the optimal cluster configuration, including node count, SKU, and scaling policies, to meet performance and cost-effectiveness goals.

  • Storage & Databases: Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Cosmos DB
  • DevOps & Automation: Terraform
  • Security & Identity: Azure Active Directory, Entra
  • Monitoring: Azure Monitor
  • Networking: Azure VNET
  • Good understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and familiarity with tools like Git.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
